Today is Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day), the 80th anniversary of Japan announcing its surrender to the Allied forces in 1945. This momentous occasion marked the end of the Second World War and we pause to remember the sacrifices of all those who served in the Royal Air Force. From the skies over Europe and the world, RAF personnel played a vital role in securing our peace and freedom, often at great personal cost. This VJ Day we invite you to join us in commemorating their service, with stories from those who served, ensuring their legacy lives on for generations to come.
