We were delighted to attend a summer garden party for the residents of Wexford House, one of our retirement housing complexes.
The residents enjoyed an afternoon tea and live musical entertainment in the beautiful garden of Wexford House, set in the quintessential English market town of Melton Mowbray.
After the event we spoke to Roger, a resident of Wexford House since 2023, who spoke of his fondness for his current home.
He said: "Moving to Wexford House was the best decision I ever made. My children live overseas so it has been really important for me to be around people and to stay connected. And the fact it is with likeminded people who have shared experiences is even better.
"You do have to be mobile and be able to do things for yourself to live in one of RAFA's retirement houses, but the staff are fantastic and always encourage us to get involved with activities and events when we can.
"It has been great to spend time with everyone at this garden party, and I know all of us have really enjoyed it."
