The RAF Boxing Association are celebrating two recent successes in both individual and team events.

The RAF team lifted the UK Armed Forces Boxing Championships title for the first time since 1972 after they won four of their five bouts.

Sgt Cam Lewis (RAF Odiham) and AR Amelia Kennedy (RAF Brize Norton) then went on to be crowned as England Boxing National Amateur Champions, the first time the RAF have had an English National Champion since 1998.

The RAF Association are proud supporters of RAF Boxing for the promotion of strong mental and physical wellbeing and the creation of teamwork between participants.

Squadron Leader Joel Sweeney, Executive Secretary of RAF Boxing, said: "To reclaim the Inter Service title after such a long period of time is incredibly special to the entire RAF Boxing family.

"It reflects not just the individual talent of our incredible boxers, but also the commitment from our coaches, the support of our officials, the dedication of the committee and the loyalty of the RAF Boxing community, especially that unwavering backing of the Royal Air Forces Association.

"Their continued support provides us with the resources and encouragement needed to perform at our very best. We're proud to have brought the trophy home and we are motivated to continue raising the bar for RAF boxing, especially as we look to achieve similar success with the Development Squad in September."
