Aerospace and defence company Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, has pledged its support for a musical event at Chester Cathedral to commemorate the Battle of Britain.

Music In the Air, which will take place on Friday 27 September, will feature the Band of the Royal Air Force College, who will perform military marches, film scores and music from the Battle of Britain.

Under the direction of the Royal Air Force’s Principal Director of Music, Wing Commander Richard Murray and special guest, Grammy-nominated conductor and Royal Air Forces Association Ambassador, Anthony Inglis, guests will enjoy inspirational music composed to depict the magnificent feats of bravery that took place during the Battle of Britain.

The event will assist the vital work of the RAF Association to help members of the RAF community who are in need.

Nick Maxey, Strategic Projects Director, Customer & Account Management at Collins Aerospace, said: “We believe the RAF community fully deserves the assistance provided by the RAF Association, which is why we have supported the Association for several years. We are delighted to build on that relationship by contributing to this fantastic event at Chester Cathedral. The evening will also act as a fitting tribute to all those who took part in the Battle of Britain in the defence of our nation.”

Cate Driscoll, Head of Partnerships & Events at the RAF Association, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support of Collins Aerospace. The help of our sponsors will allow us to make this event a fitting tribute to those brave individuals who took part in the Battle of Britain, as well as reach even more people in the RAF community who desperately need our help.”
