This month, to mark International Dog Day, we’re sharing a story from our Air Mail archives. Read about how the lives of a Czech Airman and German Shepherd puppy became inextricably linked while fighting for survival. You can also watch our two short films. The first inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, featuring RAF Association Ambassador, Shona Brownlee. The second featuring friends, Phil and Dennis, chatting about life at Rothbury House.

'Verný až do smrti - Loyal unto death’

To mark and celebrate International Dog Day on 26 August, we bring you the moving story of an unlikely tale of friendship in no-man’s land.

An inspirational ambassador

With the 2024 Olympics now behind us and the Paralympics on the horizon, we caught up with Corporal Shona Brownlee. Shona competed in her first Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing 2022 and she is currently on the RAF Elite Athlete Scheme. We chatted to Shona about another of her passions – supporting the RAF community.

"It's all positive" at Rothbury House

Opened in 2022, Rothbury House enables RAF veterans and their partners to maintain their independence while living in a beautiful location in the heart of Northumberland. We spoke to friends, Phil and Dennis, about life at Rothbury, the community, and the nearby airfield.
