Dear Santa,

We have all been working very hard this year, sending out gifts to people who have not been able to go out much and to people who have bought presents for their loved ones that help fund the RAF Association’s great work looking after the RAF family. We hope that they have all been cheered up by the brilliant things we’ve sent out.

We know it is a bit cheeky to ask for things for ourselves, but thought that as this has been a tough year, you wouldn’t mind if we had a few treats.

First of all, Drew Elf would be very grateful if you could bring him one of the Red Arrows jackets. You know how he feels the cold and this would keep him toasty warm all winter.Barty Elf is always losing his socks. We don’t know how he does it, but he’s always trying to borrow from the rest of us. If you could bring him a few pairs of RAF socks, he will hopefully take better care of them. Actually, he might be better with a pack of four pairs, as he’s a particular fan of the Vulcan, Red Arrows, Spitfire and Lancaster. He just loves aviation themed footwear! As she hasn’t asked for something for herself, could you please bring Val Elf one of the beautiful silk scarves designed by Lady Elaine Hillier, wife of former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier. She always likes to look her best and this will set off many a smart outfit.

Percy Elf has still not accepted that he will never be an RAF pilot, so it would make his Christmas if he were to receive a Red Arrows flying suit.  He’s only little, so the 12-14 years size would be perfect for him, thank you. Also, he’d love some Red Arrows stationery to help him keep track of all the orders. And that just leaves me. I would like everyone who needs help from the RAF Association this Christmas to receive it, so the profits from all the items we send out will certainly help. That said, I would love a shiny new watch in my stocking on Christmas morning. I will use it to make sure all the elves arrive at work on time (you know how Barty likes a lie in).

Thank you Santa. And don’t forget to sanitise the reindeer between each house!

Best wishes,

Ian Elf and all the other RAF Association elves
